Our History

Central Park was founded in 2018 to provide car park users with a friendlier car park parking experience and has now become a pre-eminent car park manager with a growing national network of premium facilities.

As one of the first car park managers to implement automatic number plate recognition (“ANPR”) technology in all our car parks, we have evolved to become a leader in automated car park management - enabling us to deliver a higher return to car park landowners.

In 2019 we entered a partnership with UK based Unity5 to use ZatPark, their flagship car park enforcement solution to manage our growing network of high volume locations.

Unity5 work with several large London councils, some major cities in the UK and over 100 private sector customers running some 4,500 car park sites - all running their enforcement on the ZatPark technology and collectively managing over 400,000 parking breach notices per month.

Central Park’s relationship with Unity5 was further cemented last year with a formal partnership to deliver a car park management and enforcement solution for New Zealand local councils.

Central Park is owned within the Christchurch based Ocean Investment group. Tim Howe, one of the founding directors was was recognised for the Central Park journey as a finalist in the 2023 EY Entrepreneur of the Year programme.
